Canine Merishia Massage

Just like us, our animals become stressed, have aching muscles after exercise and become tired. Pulling on the lead and regular tug of war games, can lead to stiffness in the neck, shoulders and forelimbs. Dogs will frequently lie down on the same side every time, or sit to one side, they may consistently get up when told to "sit stay" or "down stay", they may run with their hind end carried to one side or appear stiff and uncomfortable either after exercise or after rest. Where disease and lameness have been ruled out as the cause, muscle spasm and soreness lead to restricted movement and these “behaviours” which do not resolve.

Merishia Massage is a soft tissue therapy involving a variety of massage techniques, stretches and joint mobilisations all of which help to release tension, remove muscle spasms and reduce pain, thereby allowing your dog to move correctly and freely.

The Merishia techniques not only include deep tissue massage procedures, I  also use a number of effective detailed mobilisation techniques, enhanced stretches, gentle release techniques, plus unique quick fire release techniques for very restricted tissue. Massage is a wonderful way to achieve relaxation, improved performance and reduce the risk of injury.

Massage enables me to assess where there are areas of tension and discomfort, and then treat those areas with simple but extremely effective techniques - the muscle releases and your animal's responses will leave you in no doubt as to how much better they feel.

Canine Massage is very beneficial for all dogs, family pets, older dogs to ease compensations, rescue dogs to ease stress levels, competition and agility dogs to warm the muscles before an event. Also to aid rehabilitation after surgery.

Regular massages help my dog with her luxating patellas, compensations in her shoulders & overall well being so all she has to worry about is play time.
